Ghana defender Denis Odoi has revealed his admiration for Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of their meeting in the 2022 World Cup on Thursday.
Portugal hammered Nigeria 4-0 in their last warm-up match before flying to Qatar, offering some encouragement to their fans after a poor run of form.
But Ghana arrived on the Arabian Peninsula with wind in their sails too after beating Switzerland 2-0 in a friendly.
“We have great respect for Cristiano Ronaldo. But maybe sometimes it also changes the dynamics of the game. I watched Portugal’s game against Nigeria. And of course, with Ronaldo, you get a different dynamic in your team. So we’ll see what that brings,” Odoi told reporters ahead of the Group H opener.
