Ghana defender Baba Rahman says he appreciates the love Reading have shown him ever since his arrival on a season-long loan deal.

The 28-year-old made a return to the club last summer, having made 29 appearances for the Royals last term.

Rahman has made 10 league appearances for Reading this season.

“I love Reading. I was here last season and although we are in a difficult situation, I want to just help Reading and give them back the love that they’ve shown me,” he told Nizaar Kinsella in an interview.

He signed for Chelsea from Augsburg in the summer of 2015, playing 23 times during his debut season and impressing against PSG in the UEFA Champions League.

The former Kotoko left-back has since spent time at Schalke, Reims, Real Mallorca and PAOK, though it was at Reading last season that he enjoyed his most consistent run of football after an injury-affected few years, which began when he ruptured his cruciate ligament at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
