Ghana’s contingent have landed in Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup which starts on Sunday.
The Black Stars squad were spotted wearing the traditional ‘fugu’ attire as they arrived at the Hamad international airport in Doha.
The smock – Fugu – is a dress code attributed to the people of Northern Ghana. It is worn on solemn occasions and represents strength, courage, and leadership.
The Black Stars will lock horns with Portugal in their opening Group game at – Stadium 974, Doha on November 24 before facing South Korea at Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan four days later.
The match that perhaps most Ghanaians are anticipating is the clash against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium, Al Wakrah on December 2.
