World Cup Betting Strategies

Follow Expert Opinions

The pundits aren’t just there to make up the numbers! If you’re looking for some good betting tips, then often listening to expert opinions can provide people with profitable information. Most pundits would have played in World Cups before and will have some good insight into the dimensions and influences on individual matches, so soaking up knowledge from them could end up leading to winning betting tips.

Stay Impartial

Try to stay in control and bet with your analytical brain – don’t place bets based on your emotion. This will only lead to bad decisions and could mean you lose out in terms of overall profit. Try not to bet on a team or nation you support unless your research suggests you should. As is usually the way, bringing emotions into the mix can cloud people’s judgement.

Understand The Team You’re Betting With

Betting on a team merely on paper is a very weak tactic – there are various other considerations at play when deciding who has the best chance of winning a match.

What is the side’s current form? How many goals have they been scoring and conceding recently? What is their recent head-to-head against their opposition? How do they fare against different calibre of teams? What is their current injury situation?

These will help you spot the good bets from the mediocre ones and ultimately allow you to make more money with your betting strategy. To be really on the ball for this tournament, you should watch as many live games on TV as you can and try to observe patterns that repeat themselves.

Cashing Out

Cashing Out is a feature that allows bettors the ability to settle a bet — and accept a payout less than the full potential win — before the competition ends.

There is no definitive time you should cash out, but the feature usually works in one of two ways. First, cashing out can be offered on bets that are going well for you, allowing you to cash in on the favourable position for a guaranteed return. This means if your bet ends up losing after you’ve already cashed out, you end up winning money on a bet that technically did not even win.

Second, cashing out can be a strategy if your bet is not going so well, allowing you to limit your losses by closing out your position for a smaller return. These are usually situations where you think by letting the original bet run, you might result in you losing your stake completely, permitting you to at least recoup a small amount of your stake.
