We never expected to lose to Accra Lions – Legon Cities coach Ahmed Tijani

Legon Cities FC assistant coach, Ahmed Tijani has disclosed that his outfit never saw the defeat to Accra Lions FC coming.

The club nicknamed the Royals on Monday afternoon played as a guest to the matchday 28 opponent of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.

At the end of the closely contested game, Accra Lions won 1-0 to amass the maximum three points.

Speaking to the press after the game, Legon Cities assistant coach Ahmed Tijani admitted that his team lost the game because of complacency.

“We lost this game due to complacency. It’s a cheap goal to give away. We were really bad in some certain areas. All of us take the defeat for this game. We never expect to lose this game,” the coach said.

Coach Ahmed Tijani added, “We are still the most informed team in this round. Not so much to worry about. It’s a defeat and we will put it behind us and regroup for the next game against Dreams.”

Despite the defeat, Legon Cities FC is in a good position to finish in the top half of the Ghana Premier League table at the end of the season.
