Fuseini Zackaria netted an volley to secure a point for Berekum Chelsea and deny Asante Kotoko victory at the Golden City Park during week four of the Ghana Premier League.
The game started brightly for the visitors when winger Saaka delivered a cut-back to Michael Kyei Dwamena, who found the back of the net from close range just three minutes in.
Chelsea nearly equalised just before half-time when a loose ball fell to Emmanuel Sarpong, but the forward failed to make solid contact, missing the opportunity to challenge Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare effectively.
Despite being strong defensively, the visitors were eventually broken down when captain Zackaria seized a flicked header and fired a volley that Frederick managed to touch but couldn’t prevent from crossing the line.
The Porcupines are now looking for a chance to bounce back in their next match, which is a pending fixture against Nsoatreman on Wednesday, aiming to improve their position in 5th place.
Meanwhile, coach Samuel Boadu’s Chelsea, currently in 6th place, will host Young Apostles in their next match.
