Owusu scored in four consecutive league matches, beginning with two goals in Telstar’s 2-2 draw against ADO Den Haag, the club where he developed as a youngster. He then found the net against Feyenoord, Go Ahead Eagles and FC Utrecht.
That sequence made Owusu only the second SC Telstar player to score in four successive Eredivisie matches. The first was former Netherlands international Co Stout, who achieved the feat in 1977, nearly five decades ago.
His contribution extended beyond his goals. Owusu created 12 chances from open play in October, more than any of his team-mates, and also provided one assist.
The Dutch-born Ghanaian completed 102 passes in the final third, another team-leading figure that underlined his role in moving SC Telstar into attacking areas.
He also registered 13 touches inside the opposition penalty area and contested 38 duels, winning 17 of them.
Owusu’s performances have brought him individual recognition while further establishing him as one of the Eredivisie’s standout midfielders this season.
The award is both a personal landmark for Owusu and a historic achievement for SC Telstar, who now have their first-ever Eredivisie Player of the Month winner.
