The 11th round of Serie A, broadcast on stc tv, begins on Friday with Venezia hosting Udinese, before four more matches are played on Saturday.
The main fixture sees Roma welcome Sassuolo to Stadio Olimpico, with the capital club seeking to extend a dominant record against their opponents.
According to Opta, Roma have avoided defeat in 22 of their 24 Serie A meetings with Sassuolo, winning 13 and drawing nine. They have lost only twice.
Roma have also won their past four matches against Sassuolo, a club record for consecutive victories in this fixture in Serie A.
Sassuolo have won only one of their 12 away matches against Roma in the competition, alongside five draws and six defeats. Their sole victory came on 12 March 2023, when they won 4-3. Armand Lauriente scored twice and provided an assist in that match.
Roma are one of only four teams yet to lose in Europe’s top five leagues this season, alongside Lazio, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
With seven wins and three draws from their opening 10 matches of the 2026-2027 campaign, Roma can avoid defeat in their first 11 Serie A games for only the third time in their history.
They previously achieved that feat in 2013-2014, when their unbeaten run lasted 17 matches, and in 2003-2004, when they remained unbeaten through their first 14 games.
Roma also have the strongest attack in Serie A this season, having scored 28 goals in their opening 10 matches for the first time in the club’s history.
Sassuolo, meanwhile, have lost their past four league matches. Opta noted that they have suffered five or more consecutive defeats in Serie A only once before: between January and March 2014, when they lost seven matches in a row.
They have not won away from home in the league since 15 February, when they beat Udinese 2-1. Since then, Sassuolo have recorded three draws and eight defeats in 11 away matches, including six losses in their past seven, with one draw.
Their defensive record is also the weakest in Serie A this season. Sassuolo have conceded 26 goals after 10 matches, the first time they have allowed that many at this stage of a campaign in their Serie A history.
Roma forward Donyell Malen leads the scoring charts across Europe’s top five leagues in 2026 with 22 goals. He is one goal ahead of Raphinha and Harry Kane, who have each scored 21.
Malen is also the only player in those leagues to have scored at least 10 goals both at home and away during the current calendar year. The Netherlands international has scored 10 at home and 12 away.
