Milan are negotiating a deal to bring former Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche to the club as they prepare to strengthen their administrative structure, according to Sky Sport Germany.
The move has become increasingly serious, with discussions now taking place between the two clubs. However, no final agreement has been reached, as talks remain focused on the financial arrangements involved.
Krosche, 46, was relieved of his duties at Eintracht Frankfurt on 18 October after around five and a half years in the role. The German club did not terminate his contract, which remains valid until 2028.
As part of the agreement under which he left his position, Krosche reportedly secured a clause allowing him to join another club. Any side wishing to appoint him before summer 2027 would therefore have to pay between 5m and 7m euros, unless an alternative financial arrangement is agreed with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Milan are understood to want Krosche to take on the same position and oversee the club’s football operations. The potential start date for his new role is 1 January 2027, coinciding with the opening of the winter transfer window, although negotiations have not yet reached their final stage.
The Italian club’s discussions with Krosche come as it seeks to develop its structure for the next phase. The German executive has been closely involved in Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting management during his time at the club, but any move to Milan remains dependent on an agreement over the compensation required for his release.
Eintracht Frankfurt name Krosche’s successor
Eintracht Frankfurt have already resolved the question of who will replace Krosche, agreeing to appoint former Nurnberg official Joti Chatzialexiou as their new sporting director.
Chatzialexiou, 49, is scheduled to begin his duties formally on 1 February 2027. He could join the club before that date, however, with discussions between the relevant parties still continuing.
The German administrator is expected to sign a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt running until 2030. His move from Nurnberg is valued at around 500,000 euros, after he exercised a release clause in his contract with his former club.
Krosche’s proposed arrival at Milan and Chatzialexiou’s appointment in Frankfurt are therefore linked by ongoing negotiations over the two executives’ contracts. While Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed the identity of their next sporting director, Milan must still settle the financial terms required to complete Krosche’s departure.
