Everton could be in contention to sign Minnesota United striker Kelvin Yeboah for a reported fee of about £6 million, with interest in the Ghana-born forward increasing before the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old is understood to be among the players being monitored by the Toffees after his performances in Major League Soccer revived interest from European clubs. His recent goalscoring form and previous experience in European football have helped place him on the radar of teams looking to strengthen their attack.
A valuation of £6 million could appeal to Everton, who may view Yeboah as a relatively affordable way to add attacking options without using a substantial part of their transfer budget. The forward has shown he can score in different football environments and, at 26, still has several productive years ahead of him.
However, Minnesota United are not under immediate pressure to sell. Yeboah’s contract with the MLS club reportedly runs until December 2027, giving them a strong negotiating position if clubs make an approach.
The growing level of interest from Europe could nevertheless test that stance. Should Yeboah continue to attract attention with his performances, Minnesota United may have to consider whether suitable offers warrant opening discussions over his future.
Everton are not the only club believed to be following the striker’s situation. Portuguese giants Sporting CP are also reportedly monitoring Yeboah, with competition from established European clubs potentially making any negotiations more difficult.
Further interest could increase the pressure on Everton to decide whether to make their reported admiration more concrete. A transfer fee of around £6 million would make the deal financially attractive, but the club would still need to compete with other interested sides and reach an agreement with Minnesota United.
There is no confirmed agreement at this stage, and neither the reported valuation nor the interest from Everton has resulted in a formal transfer. The months before January are likely to determine whether the Toffees move from monitoring Yeboah to pursuing a deal.
