Saudi journalist Ali Al-Anzi reported that France defender Simakan has returned to the squad after recovering from the injury that had kept him out. The 26-year-old has also resumed full team training.
Simakan is not the only player returning to contention. Saudi Arabia winger Abdulrahman Ghareeb has likewise recovered from his injury and will be included for the match.
However, another France international will miss the fixture. Winger Kingsley Coman is not yet ready to play, despite returning to group training on Tuesday.
Coman and Simakan were both absent for Al-Nassr’s previous two Roshn Saudi League matches, against Neom and Al-Faisaly, because of injury.
The pair had originally been expected to miss four matches. Two of those fixtures were subsequently postponed: the league game against Al-Ahli and the AFC Champions League Elite meeting with Al-Wasl of the United Arab Emirates.
Simakan’s return means Al-Nassr’s French injury problems have eased before the visit of Al-Kholood, although Coman’s continued absence leaves the club without one of its attacking options.
Al-Nassr are second in the Saudi league table with 25 points, two behind leaders Al-Hilal. They are level on goal difference with third-placed Al-Qadsiah, who have played one more match.
