Brong Ahafo Regional Circles Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Chairman Fuzy, has called on the club’s life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to hand control of the Porcupine Warriors to their supporters.
Chairman Fuzy made the appeal after a game, citing concerns among the club’s fan base about its future direction and the need for supporters to have a greater role in decisions affecting Asante Kotoko.
“We beg Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to give the team to the supporters,” he told the media after the game.
He said supporter-led management could provide the club’s fan base with a stronger voice in its administration, daily operations and long-term planning.
Asante Kotoko are one of Ghana’s most prominent football clubs and have a large and passionate following. Supporters have traditionally been central to the identity and history of the Porcupine Warriors.
The club’s leadership is appointed by its life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Its current board, chaired by James Osei Brown, was appointed after the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
That appointment formed part of efforts to rebuild Asante Kotoko and restore the club’s position in Ghanaian and African football.
Chairman Fuzy’s comments have added to the wider debate over how supporters should be involved in the running of the club. His appeal also reflects calls for the concerns of the fan base to be taken into account when decisions are made about Asante Kotoko’s administration and future.
