Ghana’s national armwrestling team, the Golden Arms, have received a sponsorship boost from local footwear manufacturer Shoe Fabriek GH Ltd before the 2026 World Armwrestling Championship in India.
The company presented specially designed Ghana-branded sneakers to the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) on Friday, October 23, 2026. The footwear will support the team as it prepares for the international competition and is expected to complement the athletes’ official uniforms and kits.
Shoe Fabriek’s General Manager, Mrs Adelaide A. Abbiw-Williams, presented the sneakers, which were accepted on behalf of the federation by its President, Mr Charles Osei-Asibey.
The sponsorship will give the Golden Arms a coordinated appearance while also providing a visible demonstration of support from Ghanaian businesses as the athletes prepare to represent the country on the world stage.
Mrs Abbiw-Williams said the company’s contribution reflected its commitment to developing Ghanaian talent and promoting national pride through locally manufactured goods.
“As a proudly Ghanaian footwear manufacturer, we are delighted to celebrate this important milestone with the Ghana Armwrestling Federation. Ten years of building a sporting discipline, nurturing talent and creating opportunities for Ghanaian athletes to compete internationally is an achievement worth recognising,” she said.
She said the company’s involvement was intended to extend beyond supplying footwear, highlighting the role of corporate Ghana in supporting athletes who represent the country at international events.
“As the team heads to India, we want them to step onto the international stage with confidence, pride and the knowledge that corporate Ghana is behind them. We wish the entire contingent every success,” she added.
The Golden Arms will compete at the World Armwrestling Championship in New Delhi, India, where Ghana’s athletes will face competitors from across the world.
Shoe Fabriek GH Ltd is based in Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region. The company manufactures footwear for institutional, industrial and consumer markets, producing items including security boots, safety footwear, school shoes, sandals and casual shoes.
The partnership underlines the contribution Ghanaian companies can make to sports development and to the preparation of national teams competing internationally.
For the Golden Arms, the donation provides further backing as they prepare to fly Ghana’s flag at the global championship.
