Bayern Munich have celebrated Ismael Saibari’s first appearance for the club after the Morocco international came off the bench and quickly made an impact in a 3-1 friendly victory over RB Leipzig.
The 24-year-old midfielder was introduced in the 71st minute and set up Jamal Musiala for Bayern’s third goal only 10 minutes later. The club’s official social media accounts posted several messages welcoming Saibari following his debut, while also highlighting the quality of his assist.
Saibari’s first outing for Bayern came just days after he returned to full team training. He had previously been working on his own after suffering an injury during the 2026 World Cup.
His involvement in the match was limited to the closing stages, but he made his contribution count almost immediately. Saibari supplied the pass that allowed Musiala to complete Bayern’s scoring in the 81st minute.
Musiala was then forced to leave the field in the 86th minute after suffering a sudden illness. No further details were given about the Germany international’s condition.
Saibari joined Bayern Munich from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven during the summer and has signed a contract that runs until 2031. The move followed a World Cup campaign in which he represented Morocco and scored three goals.
He was unavailable for Morocco’s 2-0 quarter-final defeat by France after sustaining the injury earlier in the tournament. His appearance against RB Leipzig therefore represented his first competitive involvement with Bayern since returning to group training.
The club’s reaction underlined the significance of the occasion for the new signing, whose assist provided an immediate indication of his attacking qualities. Saibari entered the game as a substitute and needed only a short time to make his presence felt in Bayern colours.
Bayern’s 3-1 success over Leipzig gave the Moroccan a positive introduction to his new team, while his connection with Musiala supplied the main highlight of his brief appearance. The German side will now monitor Musiala after his late withdrawal, while Saibari continues his return to full fitness following his World Cup injury.
The debut also offered Saibari his first opportunity to feature alongside his new Bayern team-mates after completing his move from PSV Eindhoven. His contract with the Bavarian club is due to keep him at Bayern until 2031.
