Dani Carvajal, David Alaba and Dani Ceballos remain without clubs after leaving Real Madrid this summer, with all three still searching for new teams before the 2026-27 season.
Carvajal and Alaba departed the Santiago Bernabeu after their contracts expired. Ceballos also ended his relationship with the Spanish club after reaching an agreement to terminate a deal that had been due to run until 2027.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the former Real Madrid players are currently considering their options as they look for new clubs. None has yet secured a move, leaving their futures unresolved as the transfer window progresses.
Carvajal, who is 34, has been training alongside Joselu at the Ciudad del Futbol in Las Rozas, the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation. The pair are waiting there for offers from clubs interested in signing them.
Carvajal spent much of his career at Real Madrid and was the club’s first-choice right-back for many seasons. However, after the end of his contract, he is now assessing proposals before deciding on the next stage of his career. The report does not identify the clubs that may be interested in the defender.
Alaba, also 34, took a holiday after the World Cup and is currently in Germany while he waits to determine his next destination. The Austria defender has been linked with a possible move to the Saudi Pro League, although he remains without a club at present.
The defender’s immediate plans have not been confirmed, and no agreement has been reported. For now, Alaba is continuing to consider his options from Germany as he looks for a new opportunity following his departure from Real Madrid.
Ceballos, 30, has also been training at the Ciudad del Futbol in Las Rozas. Several clubs have been linked with the midfielder and are reported to have shown an interest in signing him.
Real Betis is understood to be among the clubs that would like to bring Ceballos back, but the transfer is dependent on the Spanish club finding a suitable financial formula for the deal. At present, Real Betis does not have enough room within its wage budget to complete the signing.
Ceballos is therefore continuing to explore alternatives in the transfer market rather than waiting solely for a return to Real Betis. The midfielder’s representatives are working on two other proposals in addition to the option involving the Spanish club, according to AS.
The situation means Ceballos must weigh the different possibilities carefully to avoid reaching the end of the transfer window without a team. Real Betis remains interested, but its current wage restrictions have prevented the move from being completed.
With the new season approaching, Carvajal, Alaba and Ceballos are all still waiting for clarity over their next clubs after bringing their Real Madrid careers to an end.
