Manchester City have extended Jeremy Doku’s contract until the summer of 2031, securing the future of one of their most versatile attacking players.
The club announced the new five-year agreement on Thursday, confirming that the Belgium international will remain at the Etihad Stadium for a further five seasons.
“Jeremy Doku has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester City, extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2031,” the club said in an official statement.
Doku joined City from French side Stade Rennais in the summer of 2023 and has since established himself as one of the most talented and exciting wingers in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old’s exceptional pace, close control and ability to beat defenders have made him a regular feature in City’s attack. His eye for goal has also helped him become an important part of the squad.
Doku has made 131 appearances for Manchester City so far, scoring 22 goals.
Although he is most closely associated with the left wing, the Belgium international has also demonstrated his adaptability by playing on the right and, on occasion, in a more central role.
His contribution has come during a successful period for the club, with City winning five major honours since his arrival. That collection includes the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Community Shield.
Doku is also an established member of the Belgium national team. He has won 48 international caps and helped his country reach the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
After signing his new contract, Doku said he was delighted to extend his time at City and spoke of his enthusiasm about working under newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca.
“I have really enjoyed my time at City so far, so having the opportunity to stay for longer is a great feeling,” said Doku.
“This club means a lot to me. I have developed as a player and as a person. I feel settled here, and I know I am improving every day because of the work being done by the staff here.”
He added: “It is difficult to explain how much this club does to help its players. I never take that for granted, and it makes me better.”
Doku said Maresca’s arrival had increased his excitement about the new season.
“With Enzo here now, I am very excited for the new season. His style of football is the kind we like, and that is exciting for the players,” he said.
The winger also credited City’s supporters as an important reason for committing his future to the club.
“City fans are also a major reason why I signed this new contract. I feel their love and support, and that means a lot to me. I want to focus on achieving the success they deserve,” Doku said.
