Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew, has arrived in Ghana to join the national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ayew arrived in Ghana on Sunday, August 31, 2025, ahead of the Black Stars’ matches against Chad and Mali on September 4 and 8 respectively.

Ayew, who plays for Leicester City, is set to lead the team in the qualifiers and has previously expressed confidence in Ghana’s chances of making it to the World Cup.

Under his leadership, the Black Stars are looking to secure vital points to strengthen their position in the race for the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana currently tops Group I with 15 points from six matches, having won five and lost one.
