Ghana’s Black Satellites are set to kick off their 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship campaign against arch-rivals Nigeria on July 10 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
The match, scheduled for 15:00 GMT, promises to be an exciting encounter between two West African football powerhouses. Ghana is seeking revenge after losing to Nigeria in the previous edition’s final.
Coach Desmond Ofei expressed his team’s readiness, saying, “We’re playing at home, and the boys understand what this match means. We’re ready to give everything.” Ghana is grouped with Nigeria and Benin in Group A, with Benin sitting out the opening round. The team will play Benin on July 16 to complete their group fixtures.
In Group B, Ivory Coast will face Burkina Faso, while Niger takes on Togo. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the final scheduled for July 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The tournament will feature seven West African nations competing for regional supremacy and qualification to the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
