2025 WAFU B U20 Boys Cup: Niger edge Togo in keenly contested game

Niger’s U20 team got off to a winning start in the 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship, beating Togo 1-0.

Abdoul Latif Goumey scored the only goal of the match in the 28th minute, calmly slotting home from close range.

Despite Togo’s efforts in the second half, Niger’s defense held strong, securing a hard-fought victory.

The win puts Niger in a good position to advance to the knockout stage, alongside defending champions Ivory Coast, who also won their opening match 2-1 against Burkina Faso.

Both teams showed their strength and determination, and it looks like it’ll be an interesting battle for the top spots in Group B.

With these wins, Niger and Ivory Coast set the bar high for the other teams in the group. The tournament is shaping up to be an exciting competition, with several talented teams vying for the top spot.
