In response to the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) withdrawal of approval for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has requested alternative venues for the Black Stars’ upcoming home games.

In a letter dated September 12, 2024, the Ministry directed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ask CAF to inspect the University of Ghana Stadium and the Accra Sports Stadium for next month’s game against Sudan.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium was temporarily closed after Ghana’s game against Angola due to “technical infractions, including an unsuitable playing field”.

The Ministry notes that all issues identified by CAF at the Accra Sports Stadium have been resolved, making it available to host matches.
