The inaugural edition of the democracy Cup, which will be played between old foes Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has been rescheduled.
The game was expected to take place on July 5 at the Accra Sports Stadium, but has been postponed.
Hearts and Kotoko, the most prestigious teams in the history of Ghana football, struggled in the domestic league during the 2023/24 season, finishing 14th and 6th respectively.
The on-field disappointment has fuelled the management of Asante Kotoko to oversee a major overhaul, with 21 players parting ways with the club.
Meanwhile, Hearts of oak are yet to conduct a massive overhaul, though are expected to part ways with some players as well.
Kotoko achieved the domestic double over Hearts of Oak in the just-ended season and will be strong favourites to nick the trophy — despite the massive clear out — on July 17.
