Heart of Lions secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak in their Ghana Premier League encounter on Sunday at the Kpando Park.
Nana Kwame Oppong and Ishmael Addo scored within a four-minute span, giving Lions a decisive lead.
Despite a valiant effort from Hearts of Oak, including a header from Hamza Issah that failed to challenge Lions’ goalkeeper Lawrence Osei, and a contentious incident where Sanni Mohammed’s pass to Issah resulted in a no-call from referee Gabriel Opoku Arhim, the visitors could not find the back of the net.
The loss leaves Hearts of Oak with two defeats from their opening fixtures of the season, and sit in the relegation zone.
They face Bechem United in their next fixture while second-placed Heart of Lions take on Dreams FC.
