2023 GFA Awards: Full list of winners

The first-ever Ghana Football Association (GFA) Awards occurred at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Accra on Saturday, September 10, 2023.

The event which successfully concluded in the nation’s capital, honored outstanding players, coaches, and clubs from various GFA-organized competitions.

Vincent Atinga, a defender from Medeama SC, received the prestigious award for the best player of the season in the Ghana Premier League. In the meantime, Mary Amponsah, an attacker from Ampem Darkoa Ladies, achieved a remarkable double, winning both the top scorer of the season and the best women’s player of the season awards.

Medeama SC, the reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League, and Ampem Darkoa Ladies, the Women’s Premier League titleholders, both left the ceremony with an impressive four awards each.

Asante Kotoko earned recognition for being the most branded and vibrant club of the season, while FC Samartex 1996 was honored as the best Supporters of the season.

The highest honor of the evening went to FIFA referee Julian Nii Akwa Nunoo, who was named the best referee of the season and received a luxurious Hyundai Elantra as a token of appreciation for his achievements.
