2023 Africa Cup of Nations: South Africa makes light work of Namibia in 4-0 mauling

The Bafana Bafana of South Africa showed no mercy on Sunday night when they locked horns with their counterparts from Namibia at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

In what was a Group E clash staged at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium, South Africa left nothing to chance knowing that a defeat would spell doom, especially after losing the first game of the tournament.

Today, star player Percy Tau scored from the penalty spot to open the scoring for the Bafana Bafana in the 14th minute.

Later in the 25th minute, things went from bad to worse for Namibia when experienced South African forward Themba Zwane also equalised to increase the lead for his country.

Before the break, the attacker scored again with a fine effort to take the game beyond the reach of Namibia.

In the second half, the thrilling contest only witnessed one more goal.

It was scored by Thapelo Maseko as he sealed a thumping 4-0 victory for the Bafana Bafana.

The win has blown Group E of the 2023 AFCON wide open ahead of the final round of games in the group stage.
