Hearts of Oak defender Dennis Korsah been called up to the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Central African Republic.
The left-back, who was initially not part of the squad for the first match on Wednesday has been given an opportunity to fight for a place in the team ahead of the clash on Sunday.
He earned his first national team call-up in March this year ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final play-offs against Nigeria.
Korsah is said to have been called up to assist Baba Rahman at left full-back, with Otto Addo moving Gideon Mensah to central defence.
According to reports, Mensah, who plays for the MLS club Columbus Crew, arrived in Ghana this week but was diagnosed with leg pains. Also, Joseph Aidoo picked up an injury in training.
Gideon started at centre back in Ghana’s 3-0 victory over Madagascar on Wednesday.
Because Jonathan and Joseph Aidoo are out with injuries, the Bordeaux player is expected to play against Central African Republic.
The Black Stars will travel to Angola for the match.
After the match, they will head to Japan for a four-nation tournament.
