Garry Rodrigues netted the winner by slotting the ball into an empty net in injury time to seal the victory for the Blue Sharks.

Majeed Ashimeru had his debut Black Stara goal ruled out as Yeboah Koningsdoffer blocked the sight of Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha.
The Black Stars sit bottom of Group B with zero points. Cape Verde leas the standings with Egypt and Mozambique sitting second and draw following a 2-2 draw.
