2023/24 Ghana Premier League Week 6: Match Report – Hearts of Oak 0-0 FC Samartex

Accra Hearts of Oak’s winless run continued in their match week six game against FC Samartex on Saturday afternoon.

The Phobians drew goalless with FC Samartex at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ramos Kashala and Ibrahim Salifu were among the players called to the substitutes bench by head coach Martin Koopman, who made many alterations to his starting lineup.

In the 68th minute, Hamza Issah nearly gave the home side the lead with a header but Samartex goalkeeper Kofi Baah was alert to make a save.

The game finished 0-0 despite the introduction of the two players in the second half, as the Accra-based club was unable to score.

After losing at Nations FC and Nsoatreman, it is the Timber Giants’ first road point of the season.

With five games completed, Hearts of Oak is still in 12th place with five points, while Samartex and Real Tamale United are tied for first place in the league table following the draw.

The Accra-based club has one game in hand against Heart of Lions. The match week five game was postponed due to the Akosombo Dam spillage.

Hearts of Oak will play Gold Stars in their next game while Samartex will take on Legon Cities.
