Uruguay defender Ronald Araujo has been ruled out of the decisive Group H clash against Ghana on Friday.
The two nations will lock horns at the Al-Janoub Stadium in the hope of sealing a spot in the knockout stages of the 2022 World Cup.
The Barcelona centre-back who has been sidelined since September is steadily improving but his condition is not yet optimal for Friday’s clash.
Portugal have already qualified from Group H but both of these sides have the chance to join them. A victory would guarantee a spot in the next round for Ghana, while a draw would be enough if Portugal avoid defeat against South Korea.
As for Uruguay, they need a victory of their own to advance, but South Korea need to drop points as well.
