Former Ghana Football Association [GFA] Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara believes the Black Stars have the quality to make it to the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup.

No side from Africa has ever made it past the quarter-finals, with Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002) and most recently Ghana (2010) knocked out in the last eight – all after extra time or penalties.

However, Sannie Daara, who has worked closely with the team insists the current crop of Black Stars players have what it takes to go a step further in Qatar.

Ghana are housed a tricky Group alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

Speaking ahead of the global showpiece which is set to take place between November 20 and December 18, the experienced football administrator reiterated his faith in head coach Otto Addo and the rest of the technical team.

“I have very much convinced about our chances,” he said on Asempa FM.

“If you look at the team now, Otto Addo has been able to create a competition among the players and every position now has three players competing for the playing spot.

“I hope that Brazil does not come on the way and if that happens, the Black Stars can play in the semi-final. I am convinced about that because we have the quality,” he added.
