Gideon Mensah has switched his focus to Ghana’s final Group game against Uruguay on Friday.
Speaking after playing a vital role for the Black Stars in a thrilling 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday, the defender said:
“Ghanaians should expect this [type of performance] and more from us. The Uruguay game is very important. Beating South Korea is going to help us, obviously, but then, if we lose against Uruguay, it would be a bit worrying so we need to do more to win.”
Ghana need a win to be sure of making the last 16 in what has become something of a grudge match with Uruguay after their quarter-final meeting in 2010.
