2022 WAFU Zone B U17 Championship: Ghana holds recovery session after opening day defeat

Ghana’s male U17 national team has today, Sunday, June 12, 2022, held a recovery session after the team’s defeat to their Nigeria counterpart on the opening day of the 2022 WAFU Zone B u17 Championship.

Nicknamed the Black Starlets, the national team of the host nation yesterday played against the Super Eaglets at the Cape Coast Stadium in a Group A encounter.

Despite the high expectations, Ghana’s U17 team could not perform and trailed by two goals at the end of the first half.

Although the hosts would score two goals in the second half, Nigeria also found the back of the net twice in that same period to ensure the team cruised to a 4-2 win at the end of full time.

Hoping to put that opening game behind, the Black Starlets have today held a recovering session for players to start preparing for the next game.

Ghana will on Friday, June 17, 2022, take on Togo in the second Group A game of the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
