Defending champions Ghana have been placed in Group B of the upcoming 2022 West Africa Football Union (Wafu) Zone-B Under-20 Cup of Nations.
After a successful edition by Benin in 2020, the biennial sub-regional Championship returns from May 7-20, 2022 – this time in Niger.
During a live draw in Niamey Friday afternoon, the Black Satellites – winners of the 2020 edition – got drawn in Group B where they will compete with Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
Group A consists of hosts Niger, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo and Benin for the qualifying tournament for the the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
The 7 participating nations will be vying for the trophy and tickets to the 2023 edition of the U-20 Afcon.
That tournament will take place in Egypt from February 18, 2023 to March 12, 2023.
Four countries will qualify to represent Africa at the U-20 Fifa World Cup in Indonesia later that year.
