Former Ghana International Prince Tagoe has shared his thoughts on the capability of the current Black Stars to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana’s best finish at the global tournament was in South Africa, 2010 after being eliminated by Uruguay at the quarter-final stage on penalties.
At the time, the team boasted the likes of Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Kevin Prince-Boateng and Andre Ayew who were prominent globally.
However, the 26-man squad heading to Qatar is the most average team among the 32 countries that will be represented at the tournament.
“All that we need is, there should be peace, there should be joy.” Tagoe said in an interview with Radio Gold.
“We don’t really need big players or players that are well known to win the World Cup.”
“It’s sometimes about the love and the spirit and the kind of mindset the players have that will carry us through.”
The Black Stars are in group H alongside Portugal, South Korea Republic and Uruguay respectively.
