Accra Lions have recorded a narrow victory over Great Olympics to move up on the Ghana Premier League standings.
The two capital-based clubs locked horns on Tuesday afternoon to clear their Week 22 encounter of the Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
Due to the unavailability of the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra Lions hosted the game at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.
Following a very bright start to the encounter, Accra Lions managed to score through a fine effort from Dominic Amponsah in the 9th minute.
After taking the lead, the hosts managed to hold on to go into the break in control of the contest.
After recess, Great Olympics put up a good fight in their bid to equalize to rescue at least a point.
Unfortunately, the away team could not score and had to succumb to a narrow defeat at the end of the contest.
The win has lifted Accra Lions to 9th on the league standings with Great Olympics now 12th on the log.
