Medeama displayed an impressive resilience to beat Real Tamale United in matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League at the Akoon Park.
The Yellow and Mauves started as favourite but the ‘Pride of the North’ proved to be stronger opponent.
Before the break, the home team opened the scoring through captain Kwesi Donsu in the 41st minute.
After the break, the Tamale-based club put up an impressive performance to grab the equalizer in the 51st minute through Issah Kuka.
Seven minutes later, Real Tamale United doubled the lead through Issah Kuka to make it 2-1 against Medeama.
But the Tarkwa-based club who looked more purposeful fought to restore parity in the 78th minute through Kofi Asmah, who grabbed his second goal of the season after scoring the solo goal against Legon Cities in matchday one.
Both teams looked to have shared the spoils but captain Kwesi Donsu weaved his magic again to score the match-winner in the 89th minute to make it 3-2.
Medeama sits top of the table with 6 points whiles Real Tamale United occupies 12th position with 1 point after 2 matches.
