Accra Lions put up a fantastic performance on Monday afternoon to beat Berekum Chelsea 2-1 in the Ghana Premier League.
The capital-based club today locked horns with the team from Berekum in a Week 13 encounter of the ongoing 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
In a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium, the home team took the lead after 20 minutes having played some entertaining and free-flowing football.
Youngster Bassit Seidu was presented with a very good chance and made no mistake as he scored to give his team the lead.
Despite taking the lead, Accra Lions could not end the first half with the advantage. A resolute performance from Berekum Chelsea in the final five minutes of the contest saw the team restore parity in the 43rd minute thanks to an equalizer from poster boy Mezack Afriyie.
After recess, both teams put up a good performance but it was the home team that had the last laugh.
A 73rd-minute strike from Abass Samari Salifu sealed a narrow 2-1 win for Accra Lions to help the team to climb to second on the Ghana Premier League standings.
