In the wake of Asante Kotoko SC’s unexpected 1-0 defeat to Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League, assistant coach David Ocloo has extended a heartfelt apology to the club’s supporters.
The loss to their city rivals further deepens the Porcupine Warriors’ challenges in the second round of the league, where they have yet to secure a win, marking four consecutive defeats.
Addressing the media, Coach Ocloo expressed remorse and called for the fans’ continued support.
“They should forgive us for such a result, we are very sorry but they should keep supporting us, and we will not disappoint them. It is not over yet. This is the time that we need them most, so they shouldn’t neglect us. They should be with us. We would turn things around.”
The setback occurred on a Sunday night at the Baba Yara Stadium, with Afriyie Asamoah Boateng’s first-half goal tipping the scales in favor of the Eagles over the Porcupines.
The 2021 champions sit 10th with 32 points after 23 games and will face Bechem United in their next fixture.
