The Mauves and Yellow lads lost 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium instigated by a brace from Hamza Issah.
The Ghanaian champions has been paired in Group D against Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Algerian champions CR Belouizdad and Young Africans of Tanzania.
“We are using the ongoing Ghana Premier League games to prepare for the CAF Champions League group stage. We have less than six weeks to begin our Africa campaign so we are using the GPL games as pre-competition,” he said.
