The battle for the Pichichi, awarded to the player with most goals in a season, was also decided long ago, with Karim Benzema miles ahead of his closest challengers.
The Frenchman scored 27 times to lead Madrid to the title, nine ahead of Iago Aspas, who scored 18.
Benzema’s form for Carlo Ancelotti’s side has seen him become favourite for the Ballon d’Or in a season he equaled Raul Gonzalez for second place on Real Madrid’s all-time goalscoring list.
