Zinedine Zidane’s advisor slams reports of PSG agreement

The advisor to French tactician Zinedine Zidane has, on Friday afternoon, spoken out over his client’s future.

The name of ex-midfielder Zidane has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across Europe over the day to date.

This comes owing to widespread reports pointing towards the 49-year-old being lined up to take the reins at Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, on the back of Mauricio Pochettino’s dismissal.

In fact, some outlets went as far as to assure that a deal was as good as done, with Zidane having given his word to those in a position of power at the Parc des Princes ahead of next season:

Speaking to French outlet L’Equipe this afternoon, the subject of his client’s future was therefore inevitably put to Alain Migliaccio, Zidane’s advisor.

The Frenchman, however, was quick to shut down reports of ‘Zizou’ closing on a return to management in Paris.

“All of these rumours which are going around are unfounded,” Migliaccio began.  “To this day, I am the only person who is authorised to represent and advise Zinédine Zidane. Neither Zinédine Zidane nor myself have been directly contacted by the owner of PSG.”

Not only that, but Migliaccio went on to add:

“I also highly doubt that his majesty the Emir of Qatar, Cheikh Tamin Ben Hamad Al Thani, would go through social media or media in order to manager his business and take crucial decisions with regard to PSG’s future. I’m not even sure if he’s really interested in Zidane arriving.”
