Young Ghanaian defender Frank Amoabeng joins Swiss side Neuchatel Xamax

Neuchâtel Xamax, a Swiss Challenge League club, have announced the signing of young Ghanaian defender Frank Amoabeng.

The 21-year-old versatile player joins the Swiss club from Italy’s Serie C Novara, where he made just one appearance this season.

Amoabeng contributed to the club’s rise to Serie C last season, playing 24 games. He has also been capped twice with the Ghana U23 team in 2021.

The club statement revealed that Amoabeng, who can also play as a left-back, will be wearing the number 35 jersey for Neuchâtel Xamax.

The club expressed excitement about the arrival of the young defender and looks forward to his contributions to the team.

Neuchâtel Xamax is pleased to announce the arrival of young full-back Frank Amoabeng. Aged 21, this left side – who can also play in the axis of defense – arrives from Novare, a militant club in the Italian Serie C. 

He followed almost all of his training there and contributed to the club’s rise in Serie C last season, playing 24 games. He was also capped with the Ghana U23 team twice in 2021. He will wear number 35.
