You can’t be like Roger Milla – Alhaji Grusah fires Asamoah Gyan –

Black Stars management committee member Alhaji Karim Grusah has weighed in on whether legendary striker Asamoah Gyan should be included in Ghana’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In an interview last month, Asamoah Gyan stated that he would like to participate in the upcoming World Cup despite not having played for the Black Stars in over three years and not being active in over a year due to injuries.

Alhaji Grusah believes it will be a major problem if coach Otto Addo decides to bring back the former captain.

“If the coach invites him, there will be a problem. Baba Yara did not play at the World Cup. Osei Kofi did not play at the World Cup so Gyan should realize that he has done his part,” he said.

Gyan, 36, cited another African great, Roger Milla, to support his potential return, but Grusah isn’t having it.

“I’m against Asamoah Gyan playing at the World Cup because he claims we scored a soft goal against South Africa, if we hadn’t scored the soft goal, would we have qualified?” he quizzed.

He added, “He can’t play at the World Cup. He can’t be like Roger Milla.”
