Yaw Annor has finally explained the reason behind his decision to switch nationality from Ghana to Togo.
The former AshantiGold SC marksman was invited by coach Paulo Duarte for the friendlies against Cote d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea during the international break.
The 24-year-old is eligible to represent the West African country through his Mother.
Speaking in an interview Sikka FM, Yaw Annor said the decision to pledge his international allegiance to The Sparrowhawks was simply because he was likely to get chances with them.
“It was a family decision that led me to play for the Togo national team. I’m half Togolese, half Ghanaian.I made the correct decision because I’m likely to get enough playing time with Togo. I’m yet to receive any prize for winning last season’s Goal King.”
Yaw Annor is currently on the books of Egyptian side Ismaily SC.
