Would-be Ghana attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi climbed off the bench to provide an assist for Bayer Leverkusen in their unexpected 3-2 defeat to Freiburg on Saturday in the Bundesliga.

Hudson-Odoi, 21, and on loan from Chelsea till the end of the season, replaced Jonathan Tah right on the hour mark and he ensured that he underlined his significance for the side by setting up a goal.

Moments before he was introduced, Freiburg – the visitors, had scored to take command of the game – leading 2-1.

However, just 5 minutes after having a feel of the game, he ensured that Leverkusen were back into the game as he presented Patrik Schick with a chance which the Czech Republican scored to restore parity for the hosts.

He delivered a beautiful cross which was nodded home by Schick to send the game to 2-2.
