VfL Wolfsburg have celebrated the Bundesliga debut of Ghana defender Jonas Adjetey following their 2-2 draw against RB Leipzig on Sunday.
The 22-year-old centre-back recently joined Wolfsburg from FC Basel on a four-and-a-half-year deal during the winter transfer window.
His first appearance marks the beginning of his journey in Germany’s top flight for the 2025/26 season.
After the match, the club congratulated him in a post shared on their official social media page.
”Bundesliga debut! Jonas Adjetey made his first mandatory game for our Wolves against Leipziq. Congratulations Jonny!”
Adjetey’s move to the Bundesliga comes at a crucial time as the 2026 World Cup approaches.
The defender has already earned seven caps for Ghana’s senior national team.
Strong performances in Germany could boost his chances of securing a place in the squad for the global tournament.
