We’ve exceeded expectations- Semenyo reflects on Bournemouth’s season

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo believes AFC Bournemouth exceeded expectations in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, finishing 9th with 56 points.

Bournemouth capped off an impressive season with notable victories over top teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

Semenyo attributes the team’s success to their pre-season preparation and the club’s philosophy, which emphasizes high intensity and a strong mentality.

“I think it started from pre-season, really… everyone was just ready to go,” Semenyo said in an interview with Showmax. “I think we’ve exceeded the expectations, really… it stems down to the philosophy working again: those intensive speeds and just that mentality.”

Semenyo praised his teammates’ top-notch mentality, which he believes contributed to their impressive performance.

The Ghana international had a standout season, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 37 appearances. His impressive form has made him a target for several clubs, and he will look to maintain his momentum in the upcoming campaign. With Semenyo’s talent and Bournemouth’s strong team dynamic, they will aim to build on their success and achieve even greater heights in the future.
