West Ham: Noble eyeing Mudryk

West Ham United are interested in a deal to bring Mykhaylo Mudryk to the London Stadium.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by 90min, who claim that West Ham are one of a number of Premier League clubs who deployed scouts to watch the 21-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk starlet in action for Ukraine on Wednesday night.

The report went on to state that likes of Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, Leeds United and Newcastle United also had representatives in attendance at Hampden Park in order to cast their eye over the winger – who Shakhtar are believed to be demanding a figure in the region of €50m (£44m) in order to part with either in January or next summer.

“Unreal”

Considering just how exiting a prospect Mudryk very much appears to be, the argument that the Ukrainian sensation would be an unreal first signing for West Ham’s new sporting director, Mark Noble, to get over the line in January is an easy one to make.

After highly impressing in the curtailed 2021/22 Premier Liga campaign last season – scoring two goals and registering seven assists over just 11 appearances in the league – the 21-year-old has once again been in astonishing form so far this term.

Indeed, over his two Champions League appearances in the current campaign, the £13.5m-rated talent has been one of the stand-out stories of the tournament thus far, having already bagged two goals – a remarkably composed finish against RB Leipzig and a sublime strike against Celtic – provided two assists and created one big chance for his teammates.

Furthermore, the forward who Jack Collins dubbed both “absolutely unreal” and “Bernardo-esque” has also completed an average of two dribbles, made an average of one key pass and taken an average of one shot – boasting a 100% shot-to-goal ratio – per game in Europe’s most prestigious club competition so far this season.

These returns have seen the 21-year-old average a simply breathtaking SofaScore match rating of 7.5, not only ranking him as Shakhtar’s second-best performer but also as the joint 43rd-best player in the tournament as a whole.

As such, considering his already incredible level of ability and his scope for exponential future growth, Mudryk would indeed appear to be an unbelievable first signing for Noble to get over the line in the January transfer window.
