West Ham ‘go cold’ on Danjuma to turn attentions towards alternative targets

West Ham ‘go cold’ on Danjuma to turn attentions towards alternative targets

West Ham United have, according to reports, turned their attentions away from Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma, to instead prioritise alternative targets.

The name of versatile wide-man Danjuma had of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines at the London Stadium over the course of the last 24 hours.

This came amid widespread claims that the Irons, amid the club’s ongoing pursuit of attacking reinforcements, had stepped up their pursuit of the one-time Bournemouth standout.

Danjuma, for his part, is understood to have been identified as a priority target on the part of David Moyes and co.

This comes with the 25-year-old having excelled in his first season in Spain last time out, en route to 16 goals and four assists across all competitions.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word doing the rounds on Thursday evening is anything to go by, then the powers that be in east London have been left with little choice but to shift their focus elsewhere.

As per the reliable Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian, ‘West Ham have not agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old and various complications mean they are ready to move on to other attacking targets’.

The main target in the sights of the Hammers? Jesse Lingard.

David Moyes is of course well accustomed to the talents boasted by soon-to-be free agent Lingard, having overseen some of the finest form of the English international’s career during a loan stint in 2020/21.

And, evidently, West Ham’s boss is keen on a reunion, now ‘pushing’ the transfer team at the club to close a deal.

Chelsea hitman Armando Broja, meanwhile, is too firmly in the sights of the capital outfit.
