Bechem United captain Ernest Adu says their aim was to win at AshantiGold but says the draw is a good result for them ahead of their next league match.
The goalkeeper was named man of the match as the Hunters drew 0-0 at the Len Clay.
Adu made three crucial saves which helped his club’s first away point of the season.
“When we were coming from Bechem United, we had it at the back of our minds that in two years we haven’t won away match so we decided to beat Ashanti Gold SC here because we have always been doing quite well whenever we come to Obuasi if you check the records,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We had wanted to set a record here by beating them but I think the draw is very good for us and will spur us on in our next game.”
Bechem United play Asante Kotoko next in the Ghana Premier League.
