Ghana forward Osman Bukari has set sights on helping Red Star Belgrade beat AS Monaco in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening to bring joy to the fans of the club.
The Serbian giants travel to France to take on former Ligue 1 champions at the Louis II Stadium.
Red Star Belgrade are bottom of the group with six points losing the first encounter 1-0 at home, however they stand a chance of progressing to the next stage of the competition if they beat Monaco.
“We feel great and are currently on a scoring spree. We want to bring joy to our fans, we know there will be many of them in the stands in Monte Carlo,” Bukari said.
“I’m sure the atmosphere will be amazing, we all live for games like this, both the players and the fans. In previous years, Zvezda recorded historic results, fans expect the same on Thursday.”
He added, “It is up to us to fight until the referee’s final whistle and make the stars proud.”
Red Star are winless in 13 matches versus French opponents in European competitions, losing all four of their last such games and conceding three or more goals on three occasions.
Bukari has been one of the consistent performers at Red Star Belgrade this season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 17 matches across all competitions.
